New Moon - Annular Solar Eclipse in Virgo- October 2
On the 2nd of October, the luminaries - Sun and the Moon join together in the zodiac sign of Virgo forming the New Moon for the month at 16 degrees. And as this New Moon occurs close to the lunar node it forms an Annular Solar Eclipse. During this Solar Eclipse, Mercury the ruler of Virgo would be placed in its own sign at 18 degrees of Virgo and is said to be Exalted.
This Solar Eclipse in Virgo gives you new revelations. Use this to develop new strategies so that your current and future standing in life can be improved. During this Eclipse, the Sun, Moon and Mercury would see their energy being blocked by the Node of Moon. Hence it is very important that you stay low, bring about the confluence of body, mind and soul together and use it to fight against any hindrances that might come your way. Some of the hindrances might be self-made or might solely rely on your long-held beliefs and hence this Eclipse time can be used to get rid of all these that might obstruct your forward movement in life. Jupiter Retrograde in Taurus-( October 9 – February 4)
Jupiter currently is traversing through the earthy sign of Taurus and on the 9th of October it stops and begins its retrograde motion at 28 degrees of Taurus. Jupiter would turn Direct on the 4th of February, 2025 at 18 degrees of Taurus. This means that Jupiter would be retrograde for about 4 months. Jupiter is a planet that is related to growth and expansion and when Jupiter goes retrograde this growth might be restricted or the growth might be wild and not in the right path it is intended.
As Jupiter turns retrograde, its home of Pisces currently hosts Rahu or the Moon’s North node which is known for its chaotic energy. This would make the current times a tough period where it would be difficult to find our true calling.
For the ensuing 4 months’ period, the north Node in Pisces and Jupiter retrograding in Taurus points out that growth would not be on expected lines. Though there might be risks galore this is just the right time to break all barriers and discover your true purpose in life. Jupiter is presently in Taurus whose ruler is Venus. Hence areas ruled over by Venus like relationships and our resources and creative pursuits might be in for a radical change as Jupiter continues its retrograde motion through Taurus.
Mercury Transits Libra –(October 10 – 29)
As October 2024 started, Mercury had been traversing through the zodiac house of Virgo and on the 10th, it enters the sign of Libra where it would stay for the next fortnight till the 29th. As Mercury enters Libra, its ruler Venus would also be in Libra for about two days’ time and then Venus shifts position to the sign of Scorpio.
Mercury and Venus are known to be great friends with Mercury ruling over communications and connections and Venus ruling on relationships. In Libra, Mercury brings about flexibility and the ability to learn new things quite easily. However, Venus in Libra might bring about a sense of empathy and affect our decision-making process as Mercury transits through Libra.
Do not let indecisions and over-thinking affect your time here on earth. This is the right period for action, hence plan your moves ahead and do not -over-evaluate things. Just keep moving with the flow, Libra being an Air sign would help you with this as Mercury transits it.
Venus Transits Scorpio – (October 12 – November 6)
As Mercury entered the sign of Libra on the 10th of October, Venus posited in Libra hops over to the sign of Scorpio on the 12th of October where it would stay till the 6th of November. Scorpio is not a friendly terrain for Venus wherein it would meet with hardships and unavoidable transformations.
Scorpio is a water sign ruled over by the fiery planet of Mars. Do mind that as Venus is in Scorpio, the house of Scorpio would be aspected by Saturn from Aquarius, the Moon’s North Node from Pisces and Jupiter from the sign of Taurus. Both Saturn and Jupiter are currently retrograding and the energy of the North Node would be quite wild and hence the impact on Venus in Scorpio would be quite appalling these days.
Expect some energy changes around and creative pursuits going out of the roof around this transit period. Though there would be immense potential to improve your creative abilities your skillset might be hindered or restricted for now. This is a good time to try to do things that are very difficult yet use your immense inner strength and compassion.
Sun Transits Libra – (October 16 – November 15)
The Sun transiting through Virgo as October starts, transits to the sign of Libra on the 16th and would leave for Scorpio on the 15th of November. This would be a one-month stay for the Sun in Libra where it is said to be debilitated or of low energy. Just as Venus exited Libra, the Sun had entered it. As Venus transits through the tough terrain of Scorpio, it can draw some strength from the Sun through Libra.
The Sun in Libra rules our personal desires and rights and during this transit, we might end up feeling that we are not doing much for those around us. There would be a constant war between resorting to the needs of others and the need of ours.
Though the Sun is said to be debilitated or weak in Libra, this transit is loaded with immense creative mental energy. Add to this the creative energy of Venus in the adjacent house of Venus. Perhaps this would be a good time to harness our inner creative potential and work in tandem with the skillsets of those around, thus brining about a sense of balance and harmony around. Peace would prevail as the Sun moves through Libra.
Full Moon in Aries - October 17
On the 17th of October, the Moon at 1 degrees of Aries would be in direct opposition (180 deg) to the Sun at 1 degree of Libra forming the Full Moon for the month of October. And the luminaries would be just about 16 degrees from the Nodal axis and this Full Moon would be much nearer to becoming a Lunar Eclipse but not so for now.
Moon is in the house of Aries ruled over the by the fiery planet of Mars. With the Sun in Libra there would be a sense of instability and lack of clarity or transparency in things around. Your eyes might be deceiving you at times during this Full Moon in Aries. Turn inward and look up to your intuition to move forward when the Moon is bright on the zodiac sky.

Mars Transits Cancer – (October 20 – January 21)
On the 20th of October, Mars transiting through Gemini would move over to Cancer where it would be staying till the 21st of Mars, when it would be going through a retrograde phase. This would be a three month stay for Mars in Cancer. Mars in Cancer would bring about many more changes in our lives.
Mars is said to be debilitated or weak in the water sign of Cancer. The mood of Cancer changes like the tides and seasons while the powerful and energetic Mars finds it difficult to move through this terrain. This is a tough combination of water Cancer and fire Mars and hence things around might be uncomfortable for the time being.
From Cancer, Mars would be aspecting the signs of Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius with its 4th, 7th and 8th house aspects. This means that Mars would be aspecting Saturn in Aquarius. Patience and perseverance are called for as we swim in rough weather for the days ahead. On the 29th of October, Mercury in Libra transits to the sign of Scorpio joining Venus transiting therein. And Scorpio is being aspected by Saturn, Jupiter and the North Node of the Moon now. However, Mercury entering Scorpio would give a clear perspective of things and helps in good management.
In Scorpio Mercury would be spending about two months’ time. During this period, it would be retrograding between the 26th of November and the 15th of December as its last retrograde phase for the year.
