Nakshatras- Temperaments

Deva (godly) nakshatras are Ashwini, Mrigashirsha, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Revati.

Human nakshatras are Bharani, Rohini, Ardra, Shravana and all the Purva and Uttara Nakshatras.

Rakshasa (demon) nakshatras are Krittika, Ashlesha, Magha, Chitra, Vishakha, Jyestha, Mula, Dhanistha, Shatabhishak.

It is said by astrologers that people who have many planets in demon Nakshatras maybe more harsh then those who have planets in the deva Nakshatras which are mostly soft.

Finding Nakshatra Pada

To calculate in which pada or quarter a birth has taken place, one has to simply divide the Nakshatra or stars total hours and find the birth time in which quarter it falls.

In the Indian Almanac also known as Panchanga, you can find the total reminder nakshatra time of each day at the beginning which indicate the reminder time of a nakshatra after sunrise.
